From Ruth Spillers, Whitley Collins Descendants, 9-Feb-2016
February 9, 2016 | 4:17am 2016 will be a great reunion. You better be there so you won't miss a beat. Jonesville residents, start looking in the newspaper booster for an announcement about the 2016 reunion and somebody let me know that it was put in there or send me a copy. I paid dearly for the announcement.
The 2018 family reunion will not be on the Mississippi Gulf Coast in 2018.
If you plan to host the 2018 reunion, be prepared to spend your own money to get it off the ground and to make a great reunion and also be prepared not to get the money back in return, although I have enjoyed every reunion.
I promised the older ones that's long gone that I will keep the research going. All of the older ones was skeptical about telling me the history and kept it quiet for quite some time, but they gained my trust when I turned down 10,000.00 deal several years ago to write a book on my research of the family. They knew a lot of family history but would not let it out until they gained my trust. I am very protective of the Whitley/Collins research information.
